To celebrate the extraordinary life and legacy of the late Lillian Livingston, the piano duet competition has been renamed the Lillian Livingston Piano Duet Competition.

DATES:

Registration Deadline: Monday, September 15, 2025

Competition: Sunday, October 26, 2025

Performance: During the State Conference, November 22-23, 2025

REGISTRATION FEE: $90 per duet/$45 per student. Fees are non-refundable.

REPERTOIRE: The program must contain compositions from at least two different periods of music (Baroque, Classical, Romantic, Impressionistic, contemporary). Arrangements and transcriptions are permitted. Memorization is not required. Team members may change parts (primo/secondo) for different pieces in their program. 

MAXIMUM PERFORMANCE TIME:

Through age 10                  10 minutes
Ages 11 – 14                        15 minutes
Ages 15 – 17                        17 minutes
Ages 18 – Collegiate       20 minutes

* Students whose performance extend over the time limit will be stopped by judges during the competition.
