Registration Form and fees must be received by October 31, 2018.

The NJMTA Intermediate Piano Master Class is NOT an auditioned event. The clinician will select student performers anonymously, based only on their repertoire and age. Selected students will play perform during the 2018 NJMTA conference. Dr. Andrew Cooperstock will be the clinician for this year's master class.

Submission Guidelines:

  1. Each teacher may submit a maximum of two students to play in the Master Class. Students who have played in the 2017 master class will not be considered.

  2. Each selected student will perform ONE well-prepared and memorized piece, not exceeding 5 minutes long. The chosen composition should come from standard intermediate piano repertoire, approximately within the difficulty range of following graded levels:
      - RCM: levels 3-8
      - ABRSM levels 2-6
      - PTF: levels 4-7
      - Jane Magrath's Pianist’s Guide to Standard Teaching and Performance Literature: levels 4-8

Entries with repertoire choice exceeding the upper limits of difficulty may be asked to resubmit another choice with a more appropriately intermediate level.

  3. Registration is $20 per student, which includes the master class attendance fee for the student and 2 parents/guardians.

  4. The deadline for submitting the registration form below is October 31, 2018. Payment must be received by Oct 31.

  5. Selected students will be posted on the NJMTA website and their teachers will be notified via email. No change of repertoire will be allowed after the selection. Attendance is confirmed when an additional payment of $35 master class fee is received via PayPal only.
