The following Board decision effects immediately: ONLY TEACHERS CAN CONTACT THE CHAIRPERSONS OR THE NJMTA OFFICERS. Should the parent contact any of the NJMTA chairpersons or officers will disqualify his/her child/children from all the NJMTA sponsored competitions and auditions in the whole year.

1st Place Winners – Trophies as well as Performances in the Winners Recital at the NJMTA State Conference.

 

 

2nd  Place - medal

3rd Places, Honorable Mention & Participants – Certificates

All winners should make arrangements to pick up their awards at the State Conference if they cannot attend the award presentation at the conference.

 

 

 

 

How to Enter:

Teachers are to complete the competition entry form located in the “Registration Entry and Trophy Award Forms” section of the Yearbook. Include all information requested on both sides of the form.  Teachers should collect the fees from students and send ONE check for all winds, brass, percussion and voice entries (please do not mix with piano entries.), payable to “NJMTA Competition” to:

Fees:

$35 per student

 

 

Registration Deadline:

Postmarked no later than Wednesday, October 1, 2008. Entries mailed after this date will be returned.                 

 

 

 

Repertoire:     

Three songs, memorized, from 3 different style periods among the following:
Renaissance, Baroque, Classical, Romantic, Impressionist or Modern.
The songs should have contrasting styles and tempi.
One must be in a foreign language, one must be in the student’s native language, and the third can be either, or a different foreign language.

Performance Time:

Maximum 15 minutes
